Single-ended electric heating elements, also known as single-ended electric heating elements or spring-loaded electric heating elements, are a type of heating element (tubular heating element). Single-ended heating elements are suitable for use in heating media where wiring at both ends is not feasible. They generate heat primarily through the passage of current through internal resistance. Under constant voltage conditions, the greater the resistance, the lower the power output; the smaller the resistance, the higher the power output.
