High Temperature Cast Iron Band Heater for Plastic Extrusion & Injection Molding Machines
Iron Cast Heater Charateristics
Cast iron coil heaters utilize a tubular heating element as the heating element, which is bent into shape. After entering the mold, the outer shell is made of high-quality metal alloy and centrifugally cast into various shapes, including round, flat, right-angle, air-cooled, water-cooled, and other special shapes. After precision machining, they adhere closely to the heated object. Cast aluminum coils offer a surface load of 2.5-4.5W/cm², with a maximum operating temperature between 300-450°C. Cast iron coils offer a surface load of 3.5-5.0W/cm², with a maximum operating temperature between 500-600°C. Cast iron coils offer a surface load of 4.5-6.0W/cm², with a maximum operating temperature between 550-700°C. Metal cast coils offer high efficiency and uniform heat distribution. The metal alloy's excellent thermal conductivity ensures uniform heating surface temperature, eliminating hot and cold spots in the equipment. They offer advantages such as long life, excellent thermal insulation, strong mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and magnetic field resistance. Adding insulation to the outer heat dissipation surface and sintering the inner heat dissipation surface with infrared radiation can save 35% of electricity
Precautions for Cast Iron Coil Heaters
- The operating voltage must not exceed 10% of the rated value; the relative humidity must not exceed 95%, and there must be no explosive or corrosive gases.
- The wiring must be located outside the heating and insulation layers, and the outer casing must be effectively grounded. Avoid contact with corrosive, explosive media, or moisture. The lead wires must be able to withstand the temperature and heating load of the wiring components over time. Avoid excessive force when tightening the terminal screws.
- Cast iron coil heaters should be stored in a dry place. If the insulation resistance drops below 1MΩ due to long-term storage, bake it in an oven at approximately 200°C for 5-6 hours to restore it to normal. Alternatively, reduce the voltage and continue heating until the insulation resistance is restored.
- Cast iron coil heaters must be properly positioned and fixed. The effective heating area must be in close contact with the heated object. Do not burn them dry. If dust or contaminants are found on the surface, clean them immediately before use to prevent them from affecting heat dissipation and shortening their service life.
- The magnesium oxide powder on the outlet of the heating tube must be protected from contaminants and moisture in the operating area to prevent leakage.
