Pitch Based Pre Oxidation Furnace Oven Kiln

The pitch-based pre-oxidation furnace is a key equipment for pre-oxidation treatment of raw fibers in the production process of pitch-based carbon fibers.

    Working Principles

The asphalt-based pre-oxidation furnace mainly uses high temperature and oxidizing atmosphere to cause an oxidation reaction of the asphalt-based carbon fiber precursor, realize the cyclization and cross-linking of the macromolecular chain, and convert it into a non-plastic heat-resistant trapezoidal structure, so that it will not melt or burn under the subsequent carbonization high temperature, and maintain the fiber morphology.

    Structure Features

Multi-stage Structure: A multi-stage design is often used. For example, a general-grade pre-oxidation furnace for asphalt-based non-woven felt has a total length of 60-120 meters, with each section measuring 1.5 meters. Each section has its own independent hot air heating and circulation system, allowing for adjustment of hot air direction, temperature, and other parameters based on process requirements.

Specialized Airflow Distribution Device: To ensure oxidation efficiency and fiber quality, the furnace is equipped with specialized airflow distribution devices, such as fillers, hoods, and distribution plates. These ensure a stable air flow through the asphalt fibers, minimizing impact on the fibers while effectively removing heat and byproducts generated by the oxidation reaction.

Precise Temperature Control System: A temperature control system, such as a PLC touchscreen programmable control system, enables precise multi-zone temperature control with an accuracy of ±2°C. Different temperature profiles, heating times, and hold times can be configured based on the process.

    Technical Parameters

Temperature Range: Pre-oxidation temperatures typically range from 150°C to 300°C, with varying temperatures in different stages, such as 160°C to 190°C in the low-temperature zone and 240°C to 300°C in the rapid oxidation zone.

Temperature Control Accuracy: Typically, the accuracy can reach approximately ±1°C, ensuring stability and consistency during the pre-oxidation process.

Air Flow Rate: Air flow rates vary depending on furnace size and process requirements. For example, some pre-oxidation furnaces have an air flow rate of 2.5 m³/h.
